Can I use liquid carpet cleaner with the steam mop?
Yes. We recommend using distilled water with the liquid cleaner for best results.
Do I need to wet the cleaning pad?
No. If you do not wet the cleaning pad prior to use, you will get more of a dry clean effect. Wetting the cleaning pad will take longer to dry, but will result in better cleaning effects.
The Bermuda and the Manta steam mops produce less steam than other units. Is that bad?
No It is good. Too much steam results in a wetter floor. Too much steam may also damage your unit. The Bermuda and Manta steam mops emit steam randomly for the best effect on floors and care of your steam mop.
What is the best way to clean the dirt on the florr using the pad?
We recommend changing the pad on the Bernuda continuously for a dry clean. We recomended rinsing both the Bermuda and Manta cleaning pads continuosly for a clean pad. Rinsing and cleaning your pad takes less than a minute.
Is there an instruction manual?
Yes. It is very helpful. It is only a few pages and contains everything you need to know. It takes about 10 minutes to read and will give you the expertise you need to get the best results.
How do I get the steam from the mop?
The steam mop will emit steam regularly at intervals. There are no buttons to squeeze or extra force required to produce steam. The Bermuda and Mants steam mops work simply and effortlessly. This helps to prevent over or understeamimg your floors.
Do I need chemicals in the tank?
No. We do recommend distilled water as tap water does contain chlorine which may cause white calcium spots. Using no chemicals leads to a cleaner environment for the air and kids on the floor.
Can I leave water in the tank after use?
We recommend you drain the tank. This helps to ensure you use fresh water the next time you use your steam mop.
My water leaks from the top. How can this be fixed?
Make sure the top is completely closed. If the top is not securely closed, the top will leak when moving the steam mops back and forwards.
Can I clean right when I plug in the unit?
No. Wait about 30 seconds for the led light to turn from red to green at the front. The steam mop is then producing hot steam.
My handle is wobbly. How can I fix this?
Make sure the handle is locked in at all positions. There are black pop outs along the handle and down th shaft when you assembly the rod. These pop outs hold the rod and handle in place. These will hold the handle and rod into position.
Can I use this unit on unsealed wooden floors?
We do not recommend using the steam mop on unsealed florrs. Getting unsealed floors wet can cause unsealed wood floors to warp.
My unit is not emitting steam after 30 seconds. How can I fix this?
Make sure the steam switch is turned to the open position. If closed, the unit will not produce steam. Turn the switch on when you plug the steam mop into the wall and begin use. Turn the switch to the closed position when finished. The steam switch gives you the option to turn steam completely off, if desired, when using.
Do I need to assemble this?
Only the handle and rod. There are no screws required to assemble either the Manta or Bemuda Steam Mop. Assemble takes less than 5 minutes and there are only 3 pieces to assemble.
Do I constantly have to refill the water?
No. The water covers a great distance. The steam mop usies much less water than a mop and bucket. Most floors should require only one tank fill up.
